Today, a piece on MSNBC practically gasps, “Did Nicole Richie really send an e-mail invitation to a Memorial Day party, suggesting friends ‘celebrate our country by drinking massive amounts of beer’?” Well, I don’t know, MSNBC, but who the fuck actually cares?
Granted, it’s important to call people on their bullshit, even if it’s flippant, but have we really reached a point where absurdly politically correct merges with questionable detective work in such a way that now famous people have to not goof off with their friends in private correspondences? Really? All she said was “let’s have a lot of beers.” Where was the outrage when Paris was screaming “nigger”?
