Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, whose myriad problems with drug and alcohol addiction have been widely documented, hopes to help her fellow addicts by holding the five-foot bong steady while they take hits counseling them.

A friend of Amy - who was recently diagnosed with the lung condition emphysema - said: “Amy feels so much better in herself and has decided she wants to make a difference and give back to people who are battling with addictions.

“Despite what’s being said, she’s doing really well. She’s looking for a new house to start afresh and desperately wants to get her life back on track.”

Mmm hmm. According to the friend, the Grammy-winning singer has already started putting her plan into action - with her family’s help.

“She’s spoken to rehab centers and addiction clinics about volunteer work and has offered to do some talks to the in-patients about her experiences and how she overcame what have been some of the hardest, darkest days of her life. Her family have been a rock for her and she feels like she owes others something.”

Earlier this week, Amy’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was given a sentence of 27 months for assault and perverting the course of justice.
